Kingswood Avenue

London NW6

Kingswood Avenue is a broad double fronted house on the edge of Queen’s Park. Either side of the central hallway are the formal living rooms, retained and restored to their original state, united by a new wide board oak floor.

The rear of the house contained an unusual central closet wing. This created two narrow alleyways to either side. The new extension combined all these elements into one broad family room. Glass roofs over alleyways captured these external spaces whilst maintaining the sense of being outside. The closet wing thus remained the prominent form when viewed from the garden.
